The Middle East is teetering on the edge of a full-scale regional conflict following a series of high-precision Israeli airstrikes. Iran has officially confirmed the death of its Intelligence Minister, Ismail Khatib, marking a devastating blow to Tehran's internal security apparatus.

President Masoud Pezeshkian described the assassination as a "cowardly act" and part of a broader conspiracy to decapitate Iran's top leadership. This strike follows the recent eliminations of senior security official Ali Larijani and Basij commander Gholamreza Sultani.

Energy Infrastructure Under Fire: South Pars Targeted

Beyond human targets, the conflict has expanded into economic warfare. Massive strikes have reportedly hit the South Pars Gas Field—the world's largest—and oil facilities in the city of Asaluyeh, causing visible plumes of smoke across southern Iran.

In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a stern warning to neighboring Gulf states. Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar have been advised to distance their personnel from oil and gas hubs, as Iran threatens retaliatory measures across the region.

Global Impact: Indian Oil Supplies and Nuclear Safety

The geopolitical shockwaves are already reaching Indian shores. The Indian-flagged tanker 'Jag Ladki' recently docked at Mundra Port with 6 lakh barrels of crude oil, having narrowly navigated the volatile Strait of Hormuz amidst the escalating missile exchanges.

Concerns regarding nuclear safety have also surfaced. The IAEA confirmed that a structure just 350 meters from Iran's Bushehr nuclear reactor was damaged by a projectile. While the reactor remains intact, chief Rafael Grossi warned that such strikes violate international safety protocols.

As Saudi Arabia and the UAE continue to intercept ballistic missiles and drones, the international community remains on high alert. The prospect of a prolonged energy crisis looms large if the targeting of liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities continues.
